Introducing Multiple Commodity Management

Responding to customer requests for expanded services, Atlantic has introduced Multiple Commodity Management for supplies such as electrical, safety, plumbing, industrial and power transmission.

Unlike with fasteners, which we replenish from our warehouse, we don’t stock the non-fastener supplies. Instead, we bar code label customer storage bins, periodically scan the ones requiring replenishment, then fax or e-mail orders to their existing vendors.

After delivery, their vendors bill us. We pay the bills and then issue one monthly invoice to our customers.

“Customers benefit by exiting the inventory management business and reducing invoice piles in their accounting department,” notes V.P. of Sales, John Kraus.

“It’s the perfect solution for storeroom managers and buyers faced with cutbacks or firms so overloaded with work that they can no longer afford wasting time on those non-valued added duties,” he continues.

As an example, Kraus says that one customer, for which Atlantic now manages over $140,000 worth of non-fasteners annually, admits to requiring at least one additional storeroom attendant if they had to do the work themselves. Faced with a corporate hiring freeze, the firm had few practical options before speaking to Atlantic.
