Atlantic Fasteners' Military-Aerospace Division Relocates to Larger Facility

Growing demand prompts shift to bigger warehouse and consolidated operations

The Military-Aerospace Division of Atlantic Fasteners has taken another major step forward with its move to a larger facility in West Springfield, Massachusetts.

The move is not a big one in terms of distance - literally across the street from the division’s previous headquarters - but it significantly enhances the ability of Atlantic Fasteners to meet the needs of its aviation/aerospace customer base.

Warehouse space is five times larger than what was available at the division's former location at 49 Heywood Avenue in West Springfield, according to Dana Lees, Atlantic's quality control manager.

"We now have room for expansion," he said, "which is very important for a division of our company that is growing very rapidly."

"And a big benefit of the move is that we are 70% more efficient than we were in our previous location," said Lees. "Previously, we had to go from one building to another to fill orders. Now we have all of our military-aerospace operations under one roof."

Operational facilities at the new site, located at 1434A Memorial Avenue in West Springfield, include an inspection lab within a secure storage area; additional secure bulk storage; and a shipping/receiving dock. Sales and purchasing continue to be handled through the division’s Portland, Maine and St. Louis, Missouri offices.

The division is occupying its new facility under terms of a 10-year, annually renewable lease.
